Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.24% to 842,104 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 39,132 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,882 megawatt-hours at local time 07.00.
Total electricity production reached 832,449 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.08% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 194,721 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and natural gas plants followed with 176,179 megawatt-hours and 157,305 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,783 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 14,438 megawatt-hours.
