Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.18% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 859,003 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 40,460 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,980 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 860,922 megawatt-hours on Thursday, with an increase of 1.13% from Wednesday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 29.9% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 23.8% share while hydropower plants comprised 13.5%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,611 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,692 megawatt-hours.
