Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.17% to 614,483 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 31,104 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 20,243 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 620,289 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 1.87% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 194,697 megawatt-hours. Wind plants and run-of-river plants followed with 112,060 megawatt-hours and 102,443 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,314 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 508 megawatt-hours.
