Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.14% on Sept. 15

- Electricity exports amount to 7,222 megawatt-hours while imports reach 354 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.14% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 906,770 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 42,711 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,384 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 913,638 megawatt-hours on Tuesday marking an 2.11% increase compared to the previous day.

While electricity production from natural gas constituted 28.97% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Tuesday, imported coal plants held a 21.54% share while hydro power plants comprised 17.62%.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,222 megawatt-hours while imports reached 354 megawatt-hours.
