Turkey's daily power consumption up 20.2% on August 4

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 5,490 megawatt-hours, while imports reach 2,885 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Tuesday by 20.2% compared to the previous day to reach 867,356 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 41,709 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,403 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 869,961 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 20% increase compared to the previous day.

While electricity production from natural gas constituted 24.9% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Tuesday, imported coal held a share of 22.2% and the share of hydroelectricity power plants was 22%.
