Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.94% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, reaching 1.05 million megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 51,079 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time on Tuesday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 34,616 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1.07 million megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.88% decrease from Monday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.6% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 16.2% while hydropower plants comprised 13.6%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,975 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,852 megawatt-hours.
