Turkey's daily power consumption up 1.9% on March 16

- Electricity exports amount to 16,248 megawatt-hours, while imports total 1,737 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.9% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 914,478 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 44,330 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,479 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 929,115 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 3.15% increase from Monday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29.7% of total electricity consumption, wind plants comprised 14.7%, while imported coal plants held a 14.3% share.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 16,248 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,737 megawatt-hours.
