Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.8% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 927,426 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,215 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,827 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 926,087 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 1.4% increase compared to Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.9% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.1% while lignite plants comprised 13.9%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,797 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 15,856 megawatt-hours.
