Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.71% to 859,917 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time with 40,224 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,167 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 854,038 megawatt-hours on Thursday with a 1.56% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity at 226,264 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and wind followed with 174,457 megawatt-hours and 106,601 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 2,961 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,840 megawatt-hours.
