Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 17.7% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 875,907 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 43,391 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,852 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 888,079 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 17.3% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 34.45% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 21.31% share while hydro plants comprised 14.45%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,244 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 72 megawatt-hours.
