Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.62% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 824,053 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time reaching 39,476 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,862 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 833,981 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 1.97% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 33.94% of total electricity consumption on Wednesday, imported coal plants held a 23.77% share while lignite plant comprised 13.29%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,867 megawatt-hours while imports reached 1,939 megawatt-hours.
