Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 16.06% to 878,121 megawatt-hours on Monday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 42,084 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 27,704 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 872,723 megawatt-hours on Monday with a 15.34% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 207,655 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and natural gas plants followed with 206,163 megawatt-hours and 176,505 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,555 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,953 megawatt-hours.
