Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 15.9% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 856,783 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 41,685 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,641 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 862,646 megawatt-hours on Monday, with an increase of 16% from Sunday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 28.45% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 21.56% share while lignite plants comprised 14.65%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,075 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,211 megawatt-hours.
