Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.55% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 822,516 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time, reaching 37,617 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,731 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 833,675 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 8.9% decrease from Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 19.6% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 16.5%, while imported coal power plants held a 16.2% share.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,506 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,353 megawatt-hours.
