Turkey's daily power consumption up 15.28% on Jan. 25

- Electricity exports amount to 5,110 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,130 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 15.28% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 899,203 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 44,371 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,146 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 901,202 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 15.37% increase from Sunday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 27.8% of total electricity consumption, wind energy power plants held a 19.4% share, while imported coal plants comprised 18.1%.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,110 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,130 megawatt-hours.
