Turkey's daily power consumption up 1.5% on March 17

- Electricity exports amount to 18,748 megawatt-hours, while imports total 5,076 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.5% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 928,338 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 45,044 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,766 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 942,633 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 1.45% increase from Tuesday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30.6% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 16.1%, while imported coal plants held a 14.9% share.

On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 18,748 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,076 megawatt-hours.
