Turkey's daily power consumption up 15% on April 12

- Electricity exports amount to 10,746 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,042 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 15% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 901,375 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 44,445 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,736 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 910,726 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 14.7% increase from Sunday.

Turkey's electricity production from hydroelectricity power plants constituted 26.3% of total electricity consumption, natural gas plants comprised 21.5%, while imported coal held a 14.9% share.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,746 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,042 megawatt-hours.
