Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 14.33% to 758,994 megawatt-hours on Monday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 36,772 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,577 megawatt-hours at 05.00
Total electricity production reached 759,701 megawatt-hours on Monday with a 14.4% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal at 177,795 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and run-of-the-river hydroelectricity plants followed with 174,795 megawatt-hours and 102,007 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,099 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,392 megawatt-hours.
