Turkey's daily power consumption up 14.3% on Dec. 14

- Electricity exports amount to 10,369 megawatt-hours, while imports total 858 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 14.3% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 859,413 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 42,017 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,267 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 868,923 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 13.9% increase compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 30% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 21.61% share while wind plants comprised 14.93%.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,369 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 858 megawatt-hours.
