Turkey's daily power consumption up 1.42% on Feb. 18

- Turkey's electricity exports total 6,554 megawatt-hours, while imports amount to 10,494 megawatt-hours on Tuesday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.42% to 847,413 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 39,827 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 29,092 megawatt-hours at 05.00.

Total electricity production reached 843,473 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with a 0.7% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from natural gas at 215,596 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and imported coal followed with 210,096 megawatt-hours and 178,905 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,554 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,494 megawatt-hours.
