Turkey's daily power consumption up 14% on Nov. 16

- Electricity exports amount to 10,311 megawatt-hours, while imports total 678 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 14% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 816,360 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time, reaching 40,724 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,543 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 825,993 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an 13.5% increase compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 34.13% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 21.73% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 17.95%.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,311 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 678 megawatt-hours.
