Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 13.9% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 912,194 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,840 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,853 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 909,356 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 13.8% increase compared to Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25.9% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.3% while wind plants comprised 18.9%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,508 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,450 megawatt-hours.
