Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 13.78% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 832,148 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time, reaching 41,630 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,206 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 843,102 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 13.5% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 35.21% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 21.73% share while hydroelectricity plants comprised 13.95%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,381 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,427 megawatt-hours.
