Turkey's daily electricity consumption increase by 13.7% to 838,123 megawatt-hours on Monday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 39,698 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.
The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 27,977 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 838,145 megawatt-hours on Monday, with a 14.1% rise compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 204,075 megawatt-hours.
Natural gas and hydroelectricity plants followed with 171,019 megawatt-hours and 160,115 megawatt-hours, respectively.
Also on Monday, Turkey’s electricity exports totaled 5,439 megawatt-hours while imports reached 5,418 megawatt-hours.
