Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 13.6% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 830,149 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 40,357 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,286 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 838,067 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 14.6% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 32.40% of total electricity consumption on Monday, imported coal plants held a 19.87% share while hydroelectricity plants comprised 19.51%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,607 megawatt-hours while imports reached 689 megawatt-hours.
