Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 13.07% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 767,483 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 38,260 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,513 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 777,961 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 13.41% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 33.15% of total electricity consumption on Monday, imported coal plants held a 23.27% share while hydroelectricity plants comprised 15.31%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,333 megawatt-hours while imports reached 855 megawatt-hours.
