Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.3% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 944,627 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 46,811 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,447 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 950,336 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 1.2% increase from Tuesday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 27.9% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 21.2%, while hydroelectricity power plants held a 15.8% share.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,409 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,822 megawatt-hours.
