Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.28% to 854,346 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 40,062 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 28,842 megawatt-hours at 04.00.
Total electricity production reached 850,348 megawatt-hours on Thursday with a 1% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas at 221,184 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and imported coal followed with 188,935 megawatt-hours and 178,777 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,023 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,021 megawatt-hours.
