Turkey's daily power consumption up 12.5% on July 12

- Electricity exports amount to 14,660 megawatt-hours, while imports total 1,721 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 12.5% on Monday compared to the previous day, reaching 1.03 million megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,693 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time on Monday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 32,402 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1.04 million megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 12.5% decrease from Sunday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.9% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 15.6% while hydropower plants comprised 14.2%.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,660 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,721 megawatt-hours.
