Turkey's daily power consumption up 1.25% on April 20

- Electricity exports amount to 7,162 megawatt-hours, while imports total 1,865 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.25% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 866,989 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 40,637 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,818 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 872,514 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 0.85% increase from Monday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 22.6% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 21.5%, while run-of-the-river plants held a 13.9% share.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,162 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,865 megawatt-hours.
