Turkey's daily power consumption up 12.1% on Sept. 21

- Electricity exports amount to 8,358 megawatt-hours while imports reach 125 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 12.1% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 834,592 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 40,209 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,942 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 842,829 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 12.2% increase compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 30.78% of total electricity consumption on Monday, imported coal plants held a 22.50% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 16.43%.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,358 megawatt-hours while imports reached 125 megawatt-hours.
