Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.9% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 952,008 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Electricity production reached 959,503 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 9.8% increase compared to the previous day.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 44,924 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,084 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 30.15% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Wednesday, hydro power plants held a 25.76% share while imported coal plants comprised 21.22%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,508 megawatt-hours while imports reached 2,013 megawatt-hours.
