Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.9% to 894,296 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time with 42,979 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 28,989 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 896,108 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, with a 1.25% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants with 228,679 megawatt-hours.
Imported coal plants and hydroelectricity followed with 192,667 megawatt-hours and 156,340 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,274 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,461 megawatt-hours.
