Turkey's daily power consumption up 0.89% on Feb. 23

- Electricity exports amount to 8,308 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,326 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.89% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 910,649 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 43,842 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,884 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 916,856 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 0.91% increase from Monday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 20.8%, while hydropower plants held a 15% share.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,308 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,326 megawatt-hours.
