Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.8% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 833,226 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 39,622 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,955 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 841,420 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.9% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 32.89% of total electricity consumption on Wednesday, hydropower plants held a 22.17% share while imported coal plants comprised 19.97%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,138 megawatt-hours while imports reached 944 megawatt-hours.
