Turkey's daily power consumption up 0.75% on Jan. 17

- Turkey's electricity exports total 7,035 megawatt-hours, while imports amount to 1,300 megawatt-hours on Friday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.75% to 885,431 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time with 41,756 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 29,542 megawatt-hours at 05.00.

Total electricity production reached 891,166 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 0.65% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from natural gas plants at 227,459 megawatt-hours.

Imported coal plants and hydroelectricity followed with 207,459 megawatt-hours and 135,411 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,035 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,300 megawatt-hours.
