Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.7% to 795,824 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 37,863 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,399 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 792,316 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with a 0.8% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 210,797 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and lignite plants followed with 180,775 megawatt-hours and 93,426 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,469 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,978 megawatt-hours.
