Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Thursday by 0.78% compared to the previous day to 941,946 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 43,577 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,014 megawatt-hours at local time 07.00.
Electricity production totaled 941,111 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.37% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants at 228,753 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and imported coal plants followed with 206,576 megawatt-hours and 188,349 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 2,436 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 3,271 megawatt-hours.
