Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.60% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 957,342 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 46,841 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,326 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 960,716 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.52% increase from Tuesday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.07% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants held a 20.06 % share, while imported coal plants comprised 17.77%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,415 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,291 megawatt-hours.
