Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.59% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 851,188 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 41,484 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,480 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 860,588 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.59% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 34.10% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 20.43% share while lignite plants comprised 14.20%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,807 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,407 megawatt-hours.
