Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.59% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 921,781 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,414 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,404 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 924,828 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.58% rise compared to Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.2% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21% while lignite plants comprised 14.9%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,380 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,146 megawatt-hours.
