Turkey's daily power consumption up 0.53% on Feb. 2

- Electricity exports amount to 7,289 megawatt-hours, while imports total 989 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.53% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 879,413 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 42,324 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,688 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 885,922 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 0.70% increase from Monday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 22.6% share, while wind plants comprised 12.7%.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,289 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 989 megawatt-hours.
