Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.51% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 860,253 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 40,849 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,223 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 867,469 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.01% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 33.20% of total electricity consumption on Thursday, imported coal plants held a 21.95% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 21.94%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,461 megawatt-hours while imports reached 1,245 megawatt-hours.
