Turkey's daily power consumption up 0.5% on Dec. 28

- Electricity exports amount to 10,042 megawatt-hours and imports total 9,648 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.57% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 948,651 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,457 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,626 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 950,215 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 0.73% increase compared to Monday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 18.9% while wind plants comprised 13.2%.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,042 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,648 megawatt-hours.
