Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.38% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,036,510 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,726 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 35,239 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,046,980 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.78% increase from Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 42.3% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 17.7% while lignite plants comprised 12.1%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 17,666 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,432 megawatt-hours.
