Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Thursday by 0.37% compared to the previous day to reach 946,553 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 43,790 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,352 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 949,580 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.43% increase compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 27.70% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Thursday, hydroelectricity power plants held a share of 21.70% and the share of imported coal was 19.16%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,223 megawatt-hours while imports reached 3,196 megawatt-hours.
