Turkey's daily power consumption up 0.35% on Sept. 23

- Electricity exports amount to 9,017 megawatt-hours while imports reach 367 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.35% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 858,894 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 40,660 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,994 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 867,544 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.35% increase compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 33.25% of total electricity consumption on Wednesday, imported coal plants held a 22.02% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 21.92%.

On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,017 megawatt-hours while imports reached 367 megawatt-hours.
