Turkey's daily power consumption up 0.33% on Sept. 18

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 5,679 megawatt-hours while imports reach 3,484 megawatt-hours on Wednesday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.33% to 820.282 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 38,943 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to its daily lowest point of 28,663 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Total electricity production reached 822,476 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, with a 0.06% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from imported natural gas totaling 209.62 megawatt-hours.

Coal plants and hydroelectricity plants followed with 205.12 megawatt-hours and 177.65 megawatt-hours, respectively.

Also on Wednesday, Turkey’s electricity exports amounted to 5,679 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 3,484 megawatt-hours.
