Turkey's daily power consumption up 0.30% on Jan. 7

- Electricity exports amount to 4,223 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,507 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.30% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 893,444 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 42,374 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,257 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 894,256 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.7% decrease from Wednesday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30% of total electricity consumption, imported coal held a 22.5% share while lignite plants comprised 12.8%.​​​​​​​
