Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.2% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 916,577 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Electricity production reached 920,909 megawatt-hours on Friday marking a 0.1% increase compared to the previous day.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 42,785 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,571 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 29.04% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Friday, imported coal plants held a 20.66% share while hydropower plants comprised 19.89%.
On Friday Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,521 megawatt-hours while imports reached 190 megawatt-hours.
